Comment from Lannie Vance:

Tom,

Thanks so much for responding.  Getting the conversation started was our first priority and we were able to do that through our City group.  You are right when you say that we can’t carry on conversations with everyone who walks through our door.  That is why we are talking about this now and trying to change the mindset and culture of how we go about welcoming those who walk through our doors. I totally understand that this is a different way of thinking that when I am on for greeting I won’t be shaking every hand or I might not get to say hello. I will admit I struggle with this a bit because I love to welcome people and say hello and even give hugs, but knowing that a conversation that I could be having with someone who needs my full attention or just needs me to make them feel welcome is how we should be thinking about greeting. I also know that one of my other teammates will catch the next person who walks through the door.  I love that we are having these conversations because it gets me excited to think about what our Hospitality/Greeters team can accomplish.   I hope to have a meeting in the near future and I appreciate your comments and I hope you keep them coming.

Thanks for all that you do and having a servant heart.

Blessings on your night.

Lannie
