AUCTION COMMITTEE MEETING

TUESDAY, JANUARY 9

6 – 7 PM – ACTIVITY ROOM

Trinity Tiger Ball

Friday, March 9, 2018

WE NEED YOUR INPUT!!!

You need not be a parent or relative of a current school family to participate!

Room Moms – be sure to begin thinking of what your homeroom class will be doing as a donation! If you have items (or know someone who would like to make a personal donation), please complete the " Donor Form" and return it with the item by February 16th in order to be recognized in the Program Book. Both of the forms for classroom donations and personal donations are available to download on the links above, through the school office, or at the front reception desk.

Do you own a business? Would the company you work for like to participate in a unique advertising opportunity?

As we begin planning for the 2018 Auction, we ask that you consider supporting this event by either becoming a sponsor yourself, or asking your employer to purchase a sponsorship package . We also ask that you begin to think about what items you might donate to this event (gift cards are always welcome and can be dropped in the school office anytime). This is the perfect time of year to consider this opportunity as donations received are tax-deductible and you can find some great deals as the holiday season begins!

Sponsorship forms are available by download here or paper copies are in the stand just outside of the school office. Donor forms will be available soon!

COLD AND FLU SEASON REMINDERS

We want our children to be generous with others, but with the cold and flu season upon us there are certain things we just don’t want shared. Please keep the following guidelines in mind when deciding whether or not to send your child to school. This will help to control the spread of infectious diseases at school and allow your child to be available for learning. Students should remain home for the following reasons:

  • For a temperature greater than 100 degrees. Children should be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school and not taking fever reducing medication to control symptoms.

  • If diagnosed with a strep infection. Students need to be on an antibiotic for a minimum of 24 hours, fever free, and feeling well before returning to school.

  • If your child has vomited or had persistent diarrhea during the night or in the morning before school.

  • If your child has a heavy, moist productive cough, chest congestion, or discolored nasal drainage.

  • If your child has pinkeye (conjunctivitis). Students need to have completed 24 hours of medication, and have no visible redness or discharge before returning to school.
Students should be kept home until they have been symptom free for 24 hours. This is important for your child’s health and the health of his/her classmates. Please continue to remind your child of the importance of frequent hand washing, healthy eating, and proper use and disposal of tissues during this cold and flu season.

VOLUNTEER SNOW SHOVELING

Please consider joining the Community Care team this winter in helping our neighbors who cannot shovel driveways on their own. Volunteers will be put in groups of 4 to “adopt” a home for the 2018/19 season. Snow blowers are available to borrow at Trinity.

What a wonderful way to serve together as a family, or students can be paired up with other adults to work in groups to ensure a timely response after a snow event. Sign up on the Volunteer Up website.  https://volunteerup.com/Login.asp

IT’S NOT JUST JOKING AROUND

Wednesday February 7th

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

We will be welcoming national renowned author and speaker Jodee Blanco to work with us here at Trinity. She will be here the whole day, presenting to the different grade levels a plethora of information from her life as a bullied child.

She will spend time observing the culture here at Trinity, meeting with students who need someone to talk to, students who need advice concerning their role and how to move forward to create a positive change.

After school, she will be presenting a teacher workshop helping teachers to identify bullying, how to assist and intervene effectively, how to incorporate anti-bullying and other life lessons at school. She will present strategies and solutions for dealing with the difficult child and how to create enlightened forms of discipline that are “compassion-centric”.

In the evening (7p.m. in the Family Life Center), she will wrap up the day with a parent/child seminar. She will present warning signs for bullies and victims, and how to intervene and deal with other parents. Children are encouraged to come as she uses them to walk the parents through typical clichés adults use on bullied kids and why they don’t work.

The evening is open to our community, so if you have a friend or a neighbor that you think would be interested, please invite them to join us! We have flyers in the school office and at our front reception desk.

Her books include:

  • Please Stop Laughing at Me..

  • Please Stop Laughing at Us

  • The Please Stop Laughing at Me Journal

  • Bullied Kids Speak Out: We Survived, How You Can Too
