In case you missed it in the Tidbits yesterday….

Parents! This year’s Walk-A-Thon fundraiser is the Fun Run Walk-A-Thon! We kicked off the event last week with a Pep Rally, have asked families to register their students online at to collect pledges (or students can use the crown they were given and turn the pledges into the school office to receive credit) and have been handing out daily prizes. Along with the prizes for pledges received, our students have also been issued challenges to earn extra recess time, non-uniform days, and for every student that receives $150 in pledges, they will have an opportunity to throw a pie at the teacher of their choiceOur target goal is to raise $30,000 that will go toward the beginning phases of playground improvements, as well as portions to our Grant-In-Aid program and technology.

Students also have been experiencing an amazing character theme, CASTLE QUEST! An English castle theme all about being brave and living with character. On their quest to regain Bravemore Castle, students will learn the “SIX VIRTUES of a TRUE HERO” from a cast of colorful characters.

There is only a few more days to raise funds – please help our school by reaching out to sponsors and share your students pledge page via social media. Also, be sure to ask your employer about any “matching funds” programs they may have!

If you would like to make a flat donation for our school, please click here, or consider using the “Giving” section on “The City” (select “”uc">walkathon" from the drop-down menu).

All families are invited to come out and cheer on your student at the Fun Run! Our Preschool classes will begin their “Fun Run” at 9:30 a.m. and our K – 8th grade will participate at 1:30 p.m.  A hot lunch will be provided by our PTL for all students.  Lunch will consist of:

Kirkland Brand All Beef Hot Dogs
Oreo Cookies
8oz. Water Bottle
Ketchup and Mustard

Each child in full day preschool, 1st – 3rd grade, and NDSEC will receive 1 hot dog.  Grades 4-8th will receive 2 hot dogs per child.  Lunch will be served at the regular lunch times 11:30 am and 12:00 pm.  If your child is unable to eat the hot dog lunch, please supply them with a lunch from home.  If your child that needs a hot dog without a bun, please let the office know prior to Friday so we can wrap those hot dogs separately.

Since this is a Friday which is a Black/White/Orange Spirit Wear day (NO FLAIR), Students will also be allowed to wear jeans (no ripped or torn), shorts (appropriate length), and athletic pants. Leggings will NOT be allowed.

Volunteers are still needed the day of the event to assist with passing out water to our runners, as well as assisting with lunch. If you are available to help, please contact the school office as soon as possible.
