Scripture Reading

We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us to do long ago.
– Ephesians 2:10

On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 as the highest score), how would you rate yourself on your current level of self-esteem?

Many people lack healthy self-esteem. They don’t feel good about themselves. They may try to improve their ‘image’ by wearing different clothes or make other behavior adjustments to offset their own perception. They just want to make themselves feel better.

It’s easy to attribute ‘being the way we are’ to experiences we’ve had. We forget to ask God about who we are. God has plans for each of us in His plan for eternity:

• God created you.
• Jesus died for you.
• God’s Spirit lives with you.

The Bible teaches “We are God’s masterpiece. He created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago” (Ephesians 2:10). God is saying ‘I don’t want you copying someone else. I’ve put special gifts in you – your heart, abilities, personality and experience. You are needed! You are needed in our church, in our community and in our world. If you were not needed, God wouldn’t have made you. Every person is needed in God’s world. He brought you here to make your mark with your life. We all share in this wonderful journey.

Every member in God’s family is important. Each person is loved and valued. You have a role to fill because God paid a large ransom for your life when He sent Jesus to die on the cross for you.

Just imagine… what God could do through us if we used our passions, interests and talents to bless others He’s calling us to serve.

What special passions, interests, and gifts has God given you that can be used to reach others for Christ?

Lord Jesus, give me gratitude for all the gifts You’ve given me. Open my eyes and my heart for new opportunities to share my blessings with others. Grant me encouragement as I continue in Your love and let your love flow through me. Amen.
