Comment from Tony Mintrup:

This is so powerful, Pat! What a great God sighting. This is another verse clarifying who God is and who I am…”< I > do not belong to <myself>, for God bought <me> with a high price. I am commanded to “honor God with my body” so what makes me believe that I have a choice? Who am I serving?!

C’mon! Awesome wisdom  abounding out of a tiny verse! If we don’t see ourselves as servants, we are probably only listening to ourself.  This is rich, and a great reminder for me, Dave. Thanks!

Comment from Tony Mintrup:

Good timing on this, Pastor and good explanation. A friend reached out today with a prayer request for a pending business, legal decision. I asked myself if it would glorify God to have the outcome go in his favor. Not sure, maybe God would be glorified in the unfavorable decision and subsequent events resulting in a better outcome/more glory. So, I tried to apply the truth in this verse and ended up with a prayer like “John – The only fact we can rest in is that God will provide regardless of the outcome. Praying that you have peace and faith in that and hoping God will be glorified in the outcome that is in your favor.”

Comment from Tony Mintrup:

Matt – if you mean seeking His wisdom and then pausing to receive it before acting on my own, then I have work to do 😳. Makes me wonder why it seems like I never have time to wait. What’s the rush to make a decision?!

Comment from Tony Mintrup:

While helping the Rozelle’s move today, another Trinity member and I were discussing how encouraging it is to see “the church” (not just the pastors) encouraging each other with scripture.  We can do all things; no purpose of ours can be thwarted!

Tony – thanks for this devotion. I was having a similar discussion with my kids about Pro Sports players abilities, yet the outcome of some of their lives – all rooted in their decisions. Our kids — ALL KIDS — need these biblical truths to help them in this modern age.
